In October, my boyfriend and I moved across Bristol, relocating from our flat in Redland to a house in Horfield. It was a fantastic moment at the end several stressful months of waiting for a chain to form, and we’ve fallen in love with our new home (a small but pretty red-brick Victorian terrace) and the local area.
Now the move is out of the way, we have the fun of making the house our own. It isn’t a big renovation job as the previous owners had modernised it from top to bottom, but it is very, er… white. There’s barely a speck of colour in the place, so our job over the next few months is to inject some personality into the rooms.
We’ve already made a start in the lounge, painting the walls and commissioning bespoke cabinets for the alcoves, so now it’s time to think about the finishing touches. Our style is a mix of Scandinavian sleekness and English quirkiness, and we have a bit of a penchant for grey. Above are the pieces we’re coveting, all available via the following Bristol companies or online.
