I have another spring-summer collection to share with you today, this time from the ever-reliable Broste Copenhagen. Yet again, this Danish brand has come up with a stunning range of furniture and accessories, and there are some wonderful new pieces to tempt. What’s more, it was photographed at one of my favourite places, the Copenhagen Botanical Garden.
For me, there are two sides to this collection. The first is classic Broste stuff – simple lines and a muted palette of greys, whites and taupes, which would provide the perfect backdrop for a sprinkling of fresher, seasonal items. The other half of the collection focuses on brighter, spring-like shades: rosy pinks, leafy greens, sunshine yellows… They remind me of the beautiful combination of colours in my last ‘Room Envy’ post, and they add a lovely hint of the great outdoors. The textures and shapes also reflect the natural world: mottled ceramics, vases with organic forms, patterns which echo tree rings, shells and more.
Items that stood out for me include the distressed paper lampshades, which look like they’ve been rescued from a long-forgotten garden greenhouse, and the decorative brass insects – so unusual and so striking. I also love the dashes of metallic gold, which add a subtle decadence to the collection.
