It may still be August, but details of the new-season interior collections are already beginning to emerge. Today I want to share a look at that of one of my favourite Danish brands, Ferm Living, as well as some design inspiration from its beautiful Copenhagen show apartment, known as ‘The Home’.

You might remember that I featured ‘The Home’ after a visit back in April, but it’s had a bit of a revamp since then. The new incarnation fits perfectly with the collection’s theme, ‘Comfortably You’, and it’s full of ideas for relaxed autumn-winter living. There’s still a focus on colour and pattern but the overall look is softer and more muted, with a palette of beige, burgundy, blue-grey and blush pink alongside rich textures such as velvet and wool. There are also lots of personal touches (gallery walls, ceramics collections, stacks of books), showing how you can incorporate character and individuality into a stylish scheme.

The living room is my favourite space: serene and cocooning, with a mix of warm and cool shades and a sleek daybed and sofa. It also showcases one of Ferm Living’s newly launched pieces: the ‘Insert’ side table, whose sculptural shape combines a cylindrical base and oval top joined by a slim bar. It’s available in black-stained and natural ash, and it also works brilliantly as a nightstand.

Other new designs are on display in the cosy and laid-back bedroom, including the ‘Pujo’ hanging rail (which joins the existing wall-mounted ‘Pujo’ coat rack and table), and the ‘Rest’ lamp, which consists of an opal-glass sphere resting on a ring of black marble. There are also some beautiful new textiles: the woven ‘Mirage’ blanket and cushions, all decorated with abstract shapes inspired by deserts, caravans and oases, and the silky-soft quilted ‘Daze’ bedspread.

Over in the kitchen, whose previous forest-green scheme has been replaced with crisp whites and greys, there are new dishcloths embellished with pretty leaf shapes, plus ‘Tomo’ utensils made from carbonised wood. And in the office, I love the look of the chunky marble ‘Luru’ bookends and ‘Alza’ bowls, as well as the semi-circular card holders in brass and matte black.

Other new pieces to catch my eye are the hanging ‘Deco’ plant pot, the grooved ‘Podia’ coffee table (which incorporates handy hidden storage) and the ‘Bow’ and ‘Arch’ candleholders. There are also some new twists on a few Ferm Living classics, including a leather-upholstered version of the ‘Herman’ chair. My favourites, though, are the black and chrome editions of the ‘Balance’ candleholder – I’ve always loved its elegant shape but it previously came in brass only, which doesn’t fit particularly well with my decor. I can’t wait to treat myself now!
